Confessions
There is chocolate chip cookie dough in my fridge. Again. I was supposed to have company tomorrow but it was cancelled so now I have to eat it all myself. Sigh. Life is so hard sometimes.
People who love Costco too much
I was at a party on the weekend (for a four year old - don't get any party girl notions). There was a guy there who loved Costco. LOVED. He went there all the time. He browsed the store during his lunch hour. He seemed to buy everything there.
It felt weird to listen to this guy rave about a store. About Costco, for goodness sake. It felt... cultish. Unnatural. Unhealthy in a "I think they must drug the food" kind of way.
Anyway, if I ever start feeling like that about a store, please slap me. It'll save me a lot of therapy.

No one asked me, but...
Here's my take on the new TV season (don't read if you're not caught up).
CSI:Miami: I'm SO GLAD Alexx is gone. Man, she drove me nuts.
CSI:LV: I've only seen the season premiere so far, I'm sad Warrick is gone. I hated to see Sarah back.
CSI:NY: Yeah, I watch it, but I don't have an opinion on it right now.
House: I miss Wilson being around all the time. I don't get why House has to mess around with everyone's lives. I just don't get it. He's still worth watching - I need regular doses of House crotchetyness.
ER: I hate this show but The Husband won't stop watching it. I am very very happy this is the last season.
Grey's Anatomy: I loved last week's time in Dermatology. It was hilarious.
The Big Bang Theory: This show cracks me up.
Corner Gas: Haven't watched it yet, but I'm sad it's the last season for this one.
Chuck: I LOVE Chuck. He's what Mondays are made for, as far as I'm concerned.
Hmmm, I may watch too much TV, ya think? Can you spell p-r-o-c-r-a-s-t-i-n-a-t-i-o-n?

Mmmmmmmm
This batter is good. There is still some left. I'll bake it tonight.
PS: I remembered another factor in (good) chocolate chip cookie making. Size. The cookies have to be big. This way you get 3 flavour sensations in one cookie: the outer crust, the inner gooey-ness, and the part in between.

36 hours? Seriously?
I read an article in the New York Times (if you are expecting a link here, don't even bother reading anymore. I don't do links. That would involve, like, research, and I've got my hands full already) about the best chocolate chip cookie recipe. Turns out one* of the key steps to getting a really good chocolate chip cookie is resting the batter for 36 hours. In the name of science, I decided to try this out. Now I have cookie dough in my fridge. It's supposed to stay there until tomorrow morning.
The problem? I CAN HEAR IT CALLING ME. How can one possibly NOT each chocolate chip cookie dough? Is this humanly possible? Not in my house! It's Day Four of Monster Gets Less Fat (which was going pretty well, thanks for asking), and I have cookie dough that speaks to me. This is not going to be fun.
From a scientific standpoint, I have huge issues with the study design. What kind of experiment is it when the design is so flawed, you can't get results because you ate them all? I would never dream up such a study. I blame the New York Times.
I'll keep you posted, provided there's any batter left tomorrow.
*PS: the other factors in (good) chocolate chip cookie making, as far as I can remember, are using good quality chocolate, and making sure to add salt. If there's another one, I can't remember it.

Not the kind of gumshoe I had in mind
Gah! There's gum on my shoe. And my pants! Grrrrrrrrr....
So I put both gum-infested items in the freezer, to freeze the gum (that works, right?). My freezer is full enough, thankyouverymuch. I got the gum off the shoe. The pants are still chilling. I have to psych myself up to face them.

Token entry
Sheesh, I've been slacking off. What else to expect from the Queen of Procrastination, though? This is a token entry, to prevent this blog from becoming one of those dead as a doornail blogs, keeping a good title from others. (Unlike a randomly chosen blog like, say, I'll do it later. Not like I originally wanted that blog name or anything.)
